Naughty in Nice by Rhys Bowen

This is the latest installment of the Royal Spyness series.  Lady Georgiana Rannoch, 34th in line to the throne, escapes a dreary British winter by finagling an invitation to join her brother on the French Riviera.  The Queen facilitated this because she has a special mission for her.  Along the way Georgie meets and models for Coco Chanel and gets tangled up with a gorgeous French Marquis.  Before long Georgie stumbles over a body and must work to clear her name.

Bowen’s dialogue always shines and that was certainly the case here.  It brings the setting to life and can only be described as witty and charming.  I also enjoyed seeing Georgie and her mother forge a stronger relationship.

I did miss Darcy and Belinda, though.  They both show up, but their appearances are rather brief.  I hope to see them more in the next book.  Some readers might be disappointed that the murder seems to take a back seat and doesn’t occur until rather late in the book.  However, the setting and new characters will certainly keep you captivated.
